JUST THE TICKET — SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON FSU THEATRE GRADS

If travels take you to the Big Apple, you must make time to take in a Broadway show and see fellow Seminoles on the big stage. There are currently nine FSU theatre alumni living out their dream on Broadway. Even if you're not headed to NYC, you can still track numerous grads touring the country with major theatre troupes.

When the curtain rises later this month on the highly anticipated Broadway musical MEMPHIS, Montego Glover (BFA '96) will take the lead role in the critically-acclaimed production featuring original music by Bon Jovi. Glover will be joined in the MEMPHIS cast by fellow FSU alum Kevin Covert '92.

"I'm so honored to be among the distinguished FSU artists thriving on Broadway," says Glover. "It is the result of the proud tradition of excellence that is FSU."

This show features 2001 alumnus Emily Fletcher, about whom Variety Magazine gushed: "Emily Fletcher stops the show early with her magnetic take on statuesque Sheila, the over-the-top femme fatale."

"It was really special to have three FSU grads in the same dressing room," says Fletcher, whose college experience included training in London with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. "It says a lot about the FSU program."

FSU Alumni Association bylaws require us to maintain "among former students a spirit of fellowship and regard for one another." As this spotlight program matures, our network of Seminole Clubs will organize FSU Nights at the theatre, complete with social gatherings after the shows, featuring our alumni stars.
