Event Chair


  • Suggested—1-2 year(s), otherwise determined by individual Seminole Club bylaws.


  • 2-4 hours per month, with greater time commitment surrounding events
  • Alumni chapter board meetings (monthly/quarterly/as scheduled)
  • Special events committee meetings (as needed)
  • Coordination of events you are planning, as well as support of committee members planning other events

Position Requirements:

  • Current member of the FSU Alumni Association or Seminole Boosters

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interest in event planning and marketing
  • Project management/organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Task delegation

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead special events committee
    • Oversee recruitment and selection of alumni volunteers for special events committee that may organize the following events:
      • Required events: All Seminole Clubs must host an athletic event, an academic event, and participate in Seminole Service Day.
        1. Athletic: Game Watching Party, bus trips, attending FSU sporting events when the team visits, etc.
        2. Academic: Seminole Send-offs, college fairs, guest speakers, etc.
        3. Seminole Service Day: Plan a community service event on the national day of service (third Saturday in March)
      • Social: Planning social events such as holiday parties, barbecues, etc.
      • Networking: Organizing events that allow alumni to expand their professional networks, including partnering with alumni chapters from other universities to host joint events
  2. Act as liaison between committee, board and Alumni Association staff, reporting activity, feedback on events and attendance
  3. Support Seminole Club events and programs throughout the year
