Sandra McMandon is an administrator in the St. Johns County School District and currently serves as principal of Valley Ridge Academy. With more than 15 years of experience in the educational field, she has been an elementary school teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary school principal and a K-8 school principal.
Ms. McMandon was recently honored by the Florida Commissioner of Education as a graduate of the Commissioner’s Leadership Academy. This recognition marks the culmination of a year-long course of study designed to enhance educational leaders’ knowledge in the areas of teacher effectiveness and student achievement. Ms. McMandon was nominated by her district superintendent as a leader poised to make a difference in the field of education.
Ms. McMandon is a lifelong resident and graduate of St. Johns County, Florida. In 1993, she received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Florida State University. She later earned a master’s degree in elementary education and certification in educational leadership from the University of North Florida in 1999 and 2004, respectively.
Ms. McMandon is a native Floridian and outside of her professional commitments, she covets time spent with her children, Connor and Allie.
