Communication and Social Media Chair


  • Suggested—1-2 year(s), otherwise determined by individual Seminole Club bylaws.


  • 2-4 hours per month
  • Alumni chapter board meetings (monthly/quarterly/as scheduled)
  • Committee meetings (as needed)
  • Membership programs and events (as needed)

Position Requirements:

  • Current member of the FSU Alumni Association or Seminole Boosters
  • Serve as a positive representative for the Alumni Association and Florida State University

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Task delegation
  • Writing skills
  • Social media experience

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Communications Committee Leader
    • Oversee recruitment and selection of alumni volunteers for communications committee that will lead the following projects:
      • Branding: Coordination, development and ongoing enforcement of group's brand message to ensure consistency with the FSU Alumni Association
      • Publicity: Work with officers and other chairs to ensure publicity requests, meetings and important dates are submitted and conveyed in a timely fashion to members and Alumni Association
      • Communication: Depending on activity level, you may need to break down responsibilities into subcategories such as:
        • Public Relations and Marketing—calendar entries, outreach to local media outlets
        • Website Maintenance
        • Content Writing—articles to be published, e-mail publications
        • Social Media
        • Photography
  2. Support Seminole Club events and programs throughout the year
  3. Act as communication liaison between alumni, friends, alumni chapter, as well as the FSU Alumni Association
