Young Alumni Chair


  • Suggested—1-2 year(s), otherwise determined by individual Seminole Club bylaws.


  • 1-3 hours per month
  • Alumni chapter board meetings (monthly/quarterly/as scheduled)
  • Young alumni committee meetings (as needed)
  • Coordination of events designed for young alumni

Position Requirements:

  • Current member of the FSU Alumni Association or Seminole Boosters
  • Graduated from FSU within the past 10 years

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interest in networking, event planning and public relations
  • Experience in effective social media communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Project management/organization
  • Task delegation

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Young alumni committee leader
    • Oversee recruitment and selection of alumni volunteers for young alumni committee that will contribute to the following topics:
      • Networking: Planning events geared toward expanding the professional and personal networks of recent graduates
      • Social: Organizing casual social events for area young alumni, including happy hours
      • Educational: Offering cultural and educational events for young alumni, including wine tasting, tours of local museums and first-time home buyer's seminars
      • Committee may also be asked to participate in the following student recruitment volunteer opportunities:
        1. Scholarship distribution
        2. College fairs
  2. Act as liaison between committee, board and the FSU Alumni Association to report activity, feedback on events and attendance
  3. Recruit fellow young alumni to attend events and become active club members
  4. Support Seminole Club events and programs throughout the year
