Laura Russell graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s of science and a certificate in special event planning. While at Florida State, Ms. Russell was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, the Student Alumni Association and served as overall director of the FSU Dance Marathon.
Upon graduation, Ms. Russell started her career in public service, working for the Florida Senate serving Senate President Jeff Atwater and Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff. She now works with her family's company, Cheney Brothers, an independent food distribution company.
Ms. Russell serves on the Board of Directors for the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida, she is a past president and member of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, a Lifetime member of the FSU Alumni Association and a member of the Palm Beach County Food Bank Board of Directors.
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Ms. Russell now lives in Jupiter, Florida, with her husband, Byron, and step-daughters, Skyler and Regan.
