Melinda "Lindy" Benton is an experienced executive in the healthcare information technology industry. She has held several senior executive positions within the nation’s leading healthcare information technology companies and played a critical role in shaping the industry over her more that 30 years of leadership.
Ms. Benton is the president and chief executive officer of Vyne Corporation, a provider of secure healthcare communications, electronic attachment and health information exchange solutions to the hospital, dental practice and payer markets, with offices in Atlanta and Knoxville. Ms. Benton is a past board member for the Florida Hospital for Children Foundation; a fellow and a past president of the Florida Chapter for the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS); and she continues to serve on executive councils for several health-related committees and industry associations.
Ms. Benton is part of a long line of FSU legacy graduates, dating back to 1910 when her great aunt graduated from the Florida State College for Women. Ms. Benton received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the FSU College of Education with extended post-graduate work in measurement and statistics. She has continued to support FSU alumni by mentoring many FSU graduates in her past and current positions in the healthcare industry.
Ms. Benton has been recognized as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT” by Health Data Management for three consecutive years; she has been named one of the FSU College of Education’s Distinguished Alumni in Business and Industry; and she was a finalist for the Women in Tech’s 2016 Woman of the Year Award.
