Ron Hobbs is a 1962 graduate of FSU with a bachelor’s degree in math and physics. He returned to Florida State to earn a master’s degree in statistics in 1967.
Ron founded and served as executive vice president for Advanced Technology, Inc. in northern Virginia, helping grow ATI from 5 employees to 2,000 with 40 offices across the U.S. Upon selling his interest in ATI in order to return to Tallahassee, Ron and his identical twin brother, Roger (also a two-time Florida State alumnus), formed the Twin Action Group real estate company.
Focused on controlled growth of quality community living in northeast Tallahassee, Ron was instrumental in the resurrection of the Northampton Shopping Center and Office Park plus other commercial and residential projects. Ron also built and owned a five story hotel near 1-10 and Thomasville Road, and was involved in the development of the Golden Eagle gated community.
Ron and his wife Carolyn (B.A. '64) met at Florida State and continue to support FSU academics, athletics, and greek life. They are Life members of the FSU Alumni Association, members of the Presidents Club and the Sapphire Society of Vires, Artes, Mores. Ron was inducted into the Circle of Gold in 2002, the same year he served as Chair of the Seminole Boosters Board of Directors.
Ron and Carolyn reside in Tallahassee and have three sons, Roger, Brian (B.S. ‘03) and Reagan (B.S. ’95).
