Education B.S. ’65 Title Director Bill Durham graduated from Florida State University in 1965, where he was a member of the Marching Chiefs, played varsity football and was active in the Sigma Chi fraternity. His time as a student-athlete and fraternity member helped shape his enduring commitment to FSU.He built a successful career in the private sector, operating his own financial services firm for more than 40 years. A devoted and active alumnus, Durham is best known for creating and launching the iconic Osceola and Renegade tradition in 1978—a role he directed for nearly three decades. His son, Allen (B.S. ’93), has carried the tradition forward since 2007.Durham has served on numerous university committees and boards, including the FSU Alumni Association National Board of Directors, and currently serves on the board of the Emeriti Alumni Society at FSU.His decades of service and leadership have earned him many of FSU’s highest honors, including the Mores Torch Award, Circle of Gold Award, Bernard F. Sliger Award, induction into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame and the honor of serving as Grand Marshal of FSU Homecoming.Bill and his wife, Leanne, live in Tallahassee, Florida.
