Your official FSU ring is the physical representation of all your hard work to earn your degree that you can take wherever you go. Rings are available for purchase once students have reached 60 credit hours. Each year, students who have chosen to commemorate their time at FSU with the purchase of an official FSU ring are invited to the Ring Ceremony to have their name called and their ring presented. Order Your Ring Now! Ring Ceremony This ceremony is an FSU tradition for students who have purchased a class ring. Traditionally, students are presented their ring on stage in the Ruby Diamond Auditorium and dip it into Westcott Fountain at 6:51 p.m. to conclude their experience. You may ask: Why 6:51 p.m.? In military time, 6:51 p.m. reads as 18:51, the year in which the University was founded. The military is an integral part of our history and is honored with this ring tradition. Order Your Ring Now! FSU Rings FAQs Ring Orders How do I place an order for a class ring? Orders can be made online at balfour.com/fsu What if I don’t know my ring size? Balfour staff will be on campus at upcoming ring events to size your ring in-person. Generally, any local jeweler can size your finger for free. Additionally, Balfour offers free resizing for life, so if there is an issue, they will cover the cost to have your ring re-sized. How do I ensure my ring is included in the ring ceremony? There is a specific order-by date each year to have your ring manufactured and shipped in time for the ring ceremony. If you order your ring before this date, it will be held upon production and shipped to campus for you to receive it at the annual Ring Ceremony each spring. To find out this year’s order deadline, email alumni@fsu.edu. Where does my ring get shipped? If your ring order has been placed before the Ring Ceremony order deadline, it will automatically be shipped to campus to be included in the annual Ring Ceremony—regardless of the address used on your order.Ring orders placed after the ring ceremony deadline will not be held and will ship directly to the address included on your order form. How long until I receive my ring? Generally, rings take about 8 weeks to manufacture after the order has been confirmed. If your order is placed before the Ring Ceremony order deadline, it will automatically be shipped directly to campus so we can be sure we have it to present to you at the Ring Ceremony. What if I am placing an order for someone else or if the ring is a gift? The information provided in the order should reflect the student or alumni receiving the order. At times, we may need to get in touch with ring purchasers to let them know information about their order. The FSU Ring Tradition The Ring Ceremony The Ring Ceremony is a unique event at FSU that is exclusive to students who have purchased the official FSU ring. The ceremony marks an important milestone as students celebrate their FSU journey and take a physical representation of their time on campus with them wherever they go. At the Ring Ceremony, students hear from university leadership, have their name called to receive their ring, take a personalized photo and participate in the ring dip tradition. The Ring Dip The ring dip tradition allows students who have purchased an FSU ring to take an iconic part of campus with them wherever they go. Westcott Fountain is the backdrop of so many FSU memories—from Homecoming to your 21st birthday—it’s only fitting that your FSU ring, which connects you to over 410,000 living alumni, have a piece of Westcott Fountain on it as well.Students will gather around Westcott Fountain following the presentation of rings to dip their rings in the lower bowl of the fountain at 6:51 p.m. Why 6:51?
