Education B.S. ’73 Bob Sasser is executive chairman emeritus and former CEO of Dollar Tree Inc., a Fortune 500 company and North America’s leading operator of discount variety stores. Under his leadership from 1999 to 2022, Dollar Tree grew from a regional retailer with fewer than 1,200 stores and under $1 billion in annual sales to a Fortune 500 powerhouse with more than 16,000 stores, nearly 200,000 employees and over $28 billion in annual revenue.Sasser earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida State University and is a member of the FSU College of Business Hall of Fame. He served on the FSU Board of Trustees, 2005-2025, and is a former member of the Foundation Board of Trustees. A lifetime member of the FSU Alumni Association and active Seminole Booster, Sasser has made transformative investments in student success and the construction of Legacy Hall, the future home of the College of Business.
