Education B.A. ’98, M.A. ’08 Delores Spearman is a dedicated community leader and philanthropist whose career has been defined by service and impact. She is a co-founder of Project Hunger through the United Way of Brevard, an initiative that provides meals to more than 1,600 children weekly during the summer months. Her leadership has extended to organizations such as the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, Brevard Cultural Alliance, Circles of Care, and the Hubbs-Sea World Research Institute, where she has served in board and advisory roles.At Florida State University, Spearman has demonstrated a deep commitment to student success and institutional advancement. She has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, Seminole Boosters Executive Board, Emeritus Alumni Society Board, and the Presidential Search Committee that selected FSU’s 15th president. She is also a longtime member of the College of Social Work’s Stoops Center Advisory Council and served on the Raise the Torch National Campaign Committee and the Women for FSU Steering Committee.Together with her husband, Guy, Spearman established the Guy and Delores Spearman Endowed Professorship and has supported multiple scholarships, academic programs, and athletic facilities, including the Renaissance Fund and the Football Indoor Practice Facility.
