Young later served as a supervisory special agent in the Atlanta Field Office, where she held two leadership assignments. She directed the Domestic Joint Terrorism Task Force and subsequently the Public Corruption and Civil Rights Task Force, overseeing matters involving law enforcement misconduct, human trafficking and crimes against children. She received commendations from the FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office and law enforcement partners for her leadership and investigative work.

Young earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 1989 and served as treasurer of the FSU Pre-Law Society.
