Education B.S. ’09 Title Treasurer Additional Notes Veterans Alumni Network, Council Chair Glen E. Hallowell is a United States Air Force civilian with the U.S. Special Operations Command, where he leads a team dedicated to supporting special operations units worldwide. His distinguished career includes previous roles with Special Operations Command Central and Naval Special Warfare Command. Hallowell graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography and certificates in urban planning and emergency management. While at Florida State, he was instrumental in founding the Collegiate Veterans Association, serving as its third president and playing a key role in establishing the Student Veterans of America. His efforts contributed significantly to FSU’s ongoing participation in the Student Veterans of America network. Before attending FSU, Hallowell served nine years on active duty with the Marine Corps. His deployments included Operation Gallant Venture, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, which had duty stations in Augusta, Georgia; Okinawa, Japan; and Oahu, Hawaii. Hallowell has received several awards for his service, including the Joint Civilian Service Achievement Award, the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award and the Department of Navy Civilian Meritorious Service Award. Hallowell met his wife Jamie at a Florida State tailgate before a Miami game. They were also married during a Miami game, celebrating Seminole victories on both occasions. The couple shares their lives with their dogs, Brooks and Buster, who enjoy traveling with them.
