Title Palm Beach Regional Chair Heinz Alfredo Fernandez is a first-generation Cuban-American who was born and raised in Miami, Florida. A double graduate of FSU with a B.S. in Criminology (2017) and M.S. in Organizational Management & Communications (2026), Heinz's journey at Florida State laid the foundation for his professional work in admissions and student coaching. He is a certified appreciative advisor who believes in the power of narrative to drive student success.Fernandez currently serves as assistant director of transfer admissions at Florida Atlantic University, where he also pursues his Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership. Fernandez leverages his background in appreciative advising and leadership development to create pathways for transfer students, developing recruitment initiatives and ensuring that transfer students have the resources and institutional support to thrive in higher education.In addition to his role as Palm Beach regional chair, Fernandez serves as a mentor for the FSU HLAN-HHS Mentorship Program and Mentor FSU program, ensuring that current students have the support they need to thrive. When he isn't advocating for students, Fernandez is stepping and strolling with his noble siblings of Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc., the nation's first and largest co-ed Latin fraternity, where he serves as a chapter director and expansion committee member for the Florida territory.
