Johanna Alvarez

Johanna Alvarez (B.S. ’24) graduated with dual majors in criminology and psychology. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable populations and helping individuals and families access the resources they need to thrive. She also plans to continue her education in a related field to deepen her impact in this work.

Alvarez is Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican, and she stays closely connected to her Hispanic roots, which remain an essential part of her identity. During her time at Florida State University, she served as vice president of the Corazón Dancers, a salsa team. In this role, she built strong connections within the Hispanic/Latinx Student Union (HLSU), further enriching her cultural roots and strengthening her passion for community building.

In her spare time, Alvarez enjoys salsa dancing, theater and the sense of community that comes from celebrating culture. She is excited to join the Hispanic/Latin Alumni Network and looks forward to connecting with fellow members and contributing to this vibrant community.
