Education M.S. ’01 Title University Board of Trustees Chair Designee Renee Murphy is a child advocate and philanthropist with more than 20 years of experience supporting children and families. She spent 14 years at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Florida Hospital Orlando before transitioning to philanthropy and advocacy, focusing on youth and vulnerable populations. As the director of the BRM Family Foundation, Murphy oversees charitable giving to educational institutions and nonprofits that serve youth. She serves as first vice president of the Executive Board for Voices for Children, a board trustee of the Academy Prep Center of Tampa, a general advisor for Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at the University of Tampa and a court-appointed advocate with Florida's Guardian ad Litem program, championing the rights and well-being of abused and neglected children. She has also contributed her leadership to schools and community organizations. In 2022, she was named Mary Lee’s House Donor of the Year. Murphy holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Florida State University and dual bachelor’s degrees in communication disorders and audiology and psychology from Purdue University.
