Education B.A. ’07 Stewart Moore anchors WESH 2 News at 6, 7 and 11 p.m. He joined the WESH News team in August of 2011. He is originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina. Before joining WESH, Moore worked as the morning anchor for WIS in Columbia, South Carolina and WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida. At WTXL, he began reporting and anchoring while still in college at Florida State University.Moore currently is on the board of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission and has served as a board member on the Seminole Club of Greater Orlando. He has made a tremendous impact on the local community in Central Florida. He volunteers at schools, emcees events for nonprofits and has moderated several town hall discussions on major issues in Central Florida. While at WESH, Moore has won six Emmys, including best anchor, and two associated press awards. He is also part of the four Edward R. Murrow awards while at WESH 2. He's covered major stories including the George Zimmerman trial, Pulse shooting, Presidential elections, hurricanes Michael, Ian and Nicole, the arraignment of President Donald Trump, and the unveiling and special coverage of the Dr. Mary Mcleod Bethune statue inside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.In South Carolina, Moore won a consumer reporting award for his profile of a South Carolina shrimper and covered the 2008 presidential race – interviewing President Barack Obama, Senator John McCain and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.He earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from Florida State in 2007.
