Education B.S. ’23 Kai Garel is a proud first-generation college graduate and is on his way to becoming a double Nole, currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration at Florida State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and criminology, along with a certificate in emergency management and homeland security. At FSU, Garel held several leadership roles that helped shape campus life. He served as president of the Interfraternity Council, leading the governing body for Greek life and driving collaboration among chapters. He previously served as vice president of internal affairs and was the Greek relations chair for Seminole Student Boosters, where he connected Greek organizations with FSU Athletics. His leadership was recognized through induction into the FSU Greek Hall of Fame, the IFC Executive Council Member of the Year Award and selection as a Torchbearer 100 honoree. Professionally, Garel serves as legislative aide to State Senator Shevrin Jones. He manages the senator’s legislative agenda, oversees both the Tallahassee and Miami Gardens offices and acts as a liaison to constituents and key stakeholders. Garel remains engaged with the FSU community through the Alumni Volunteer Corporation Board for the Florida Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, supporting over 200 undergraduate members and contributing to the chapter’s long-term success. He is honored to serve on the FSU Young Alumni Council and is committed to continuing his leadership and service to the university that helped shape his journey. Directory Young Alumni
