Education B.M. ’11 Additional Notes Vice President of Student Life, Florida Southern College Lauren Albaum is vice president of student affairs at Florida Southern College, where she oversees more than 100 staff and 15 functional areas, including student life, wellness, counseling and academic support. Her leadership has driven record gains in student retention, engagement and success, positioning Florida Southern as the only institution in Florida recognized by The Princeton Review for four consecutive years among the nation’s Top 25 Best Career Services.A nationally recognized higher education leader, Albaum has served in key roles with the National and Southeastern Associations of Advisors for the Health Professions. Her civic engagement includes serving as president and CEO of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland, president of the Florida Children’s Museum Board, and chair of the United Way of Central Florida. She also led the FSU Young Alumni Council and is a graduate of Leadership Florida Connect, Leadership Polk and Leadership Lakeland.Albaum earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in higher education administration from the University of South Florida, a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Florida State University.
