You’ve tossed your tasseled cap and left the stage with a bow. You are probably wondering to yourself, “What do I do now?’” Allow the Young Alumni Network at Florida State University to help you transition from students to alumni and provide opportunities to fellowship, develop and thrive.
You are a part of the largest demographic in the Florida State alumni family. The Young Alumni Seminoles are growing at a fantastic rate and account for 37% of all living alumni. You have graduated in the last 10 years, and now is the time for you to expand your impact, engage in your new community and increase your potential. The Young Alumni Network is here to help ensure this new journey is joy-filled.
The Young Alumni Council aims to implement programs and activities that will engage recent graduates of Florida State University. Through this servant leadership, the council guides the staff of the Alumni Association on matters of concern to young alumni. The council is made up of 20 at-large members who serve for three-year terms. Individuals interested in joining apply annually in the spring for council members and are selected by the current council.
The council’s primary responsibilities are to create initiatives that create opportunities for young alumni to reconnect with the university and to advise staff on how to improve young alumni engagement. Examples of the great work the council does include determining the honorees for the Reubin O’D. Askew Young Alumni Award and planning the yearly Young Alumni Weekend.

Sponsorship Opportunities
This fall we are excited to announce that the Young Alumni Network will be hosting a virtual webinar series for our young alumni. The series will launch in October with the Alumni Association’s annual Young Alumni Awards. It will continue through the end of 2020. Content will range from game nights to networking events to financial planning webinars and will provide you a great opportunity to engage with 40% of our alumni base who are under the age of 35. Attendees will register ahead of time for each virtual event. Each event will be promoted using the Young Alumni Network’s Instagram account, all social media platforms for the FSU Alumni Association and eblasts sent to all of our members under the age of 35. This series will allow the Young Alumni Council to guide and engage our young alumni who are early in their careers and looking to connect with their alma mater.
The monthly sponsorship investment is $2,500 and includes the following benefits:
- Marketed as presenting sponsor
- Recognized as presenting sponsor in email blast to all Alumni Association members under the age of 35.
